Tamara Poynter, MSN, ANP-BC, RN
Tamara started in medical research in 1992. After working in industry as well as the academic realm, she decided to go back to school to be a nurse. Tamara began her career in nursing at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, in the Neuro Critical Care Unit. During that time, she became certified in Neuroscience Nursing. Capitalizing on her skills and interest in research, she worked as a clinical research nurse managing clinical trials in Interventional Radiology, Neuro Interventional Radiology, and Renal while earning her Master’s Degree in Nursing at Indiana University. As a nurse practitioner, she pioneered the aspect of managing patients clinically through an office setting in preparation and follow-up to Interventional Vascular and Interventional Neurovascular Radiology Procedures. Over the years, she has spoken at several national conferences and co-authored publications related to her research interests. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, biking, skiing, and gardening. When there’s time, she loves to cook.
